Please access the 2 videos for the correct set (see dojo message indicating correct set).
Reading - Please log on to Reading Planet (see dojo message) using your child's login. Here they can choose a book to read from their book band and answer the questions which go with it in their lined exercise book provided.
English - Exclamation Marks. Go through the powerpoint together first. In particular, look at the reasons for using an exclamation mark and then see if you can decide correctly for the sentences given, which punctuation mark is missing. If you need some further consolidation, have a go at the first activity - page 1 only. You can do this orally or on the sheet/copy into book. Then begin the second activity, which is the main activity.
If you are finding exclamation marks tricky, complete pages 4 and 5 only - here the sentences using an exclamation are given jumbled up. You have to put it in the correct order, placing the ! at the end. You can do this on the sheet or directly into your book.
If you are more confident with exclamation marks, complete pages 7 and 8 - here you are asked to write your own based on how the character is feeling.
Maths - Subtraction - crossing 10. Please see the video and worksheet below.
Religion - Lesson focus: Books the community use to respond at Mass.
Explain many parishes use Mass books to enable the parish community to join in with the Mass responses. Share the Mass responses found in Church’s Story 2 (revised edition) pages 9, 10, 13, 16 (attached below) to show how we respond, as a parish family, to these words from the Missal:
Page 9 “The Lord be with you.” We respond with: “And with your spirit.”
Page 10 “The Word of the Lord.” We respond with: “Thanks be to God.”
Page 13 “The Gospel of the Lord.” We respond with: “Praise to you Lord Jesus Christ.”
Page 16 “Go in peace.” We respond with: “Thanks be to God.”
Explain the community also sings parts of the Mass and hymns during Mass. Many parishes use hymn books.
SOME KEY QUESTIONS to discuss orally together -
Main activity - on the sheet match correctly what the Priest says we how we respond (see below).
Then copy them into your book. Once you have done this, have a go at practising these at home with an adult. Take it in turns to be the Priest and to be the person responding. See if you can learn them off by heart.
All resources are attached below.
I look forward to seeing some pictures of the work the children have completed. Please use the class email address:
