I hope you are all not feeling too tired from last night's Euro 2020 final!! Don't worry - we will take it steady today as we enter the final full week of Year 3. Here is what is on today's menu...
Mrs Davies will be doing a whole school assembly at 9:15am, and this will be made available on Dojo later this morning for you to view.
Lesson 1 - Spellings
Please get someone at home to test you on the final word list you have been learning over the past week. Please message or email me your test scores and I will have a look at how you have got on with Spelling Shed, and decide who the final Spelling Bee winner is for this year. That will be announced in the morning! There are no more spelling word lists for this year, we are all done!
Lesson 2 - Maths
Today, we are going to build on Friday's Maths lesson where we were reading scales to measure the volume of a liquid in a container. In this lesson, we are going to read larger volumes worth more than 1 litre. Remember, that 1 litre is the same as 1,000 millilitres, so 2 litres is the same as 2,000 millilitres, etc. You need to watch the video below, which will show you how to use bar modelling to interpret scales with different intervals (steps), and then please complete the activity sheet for your group. Group 1 - You are just going to continue practising reading scales with smaller volumes to build up your speed and confidence interpreting different scales. Group 2 - You have a mixture of problems where you are measuring given volumes using different scales and drawing the amounts in different containers.
Lesson 3 - Reading
Read 'The Monster Hunter' and answer the questions.
Lesson 4 - Handwriting
Please have a go at the handwriting practise sheet below. Remember to sit up straight at your table. Start the first letter in the correct place and take your time forming your joins. If you do not have a printer - then very neatly complete the letter strings and words in to your lined book. Make sure the letter h rises above the letter e and that your words sit correctly on the line and are consistently sized and spaced apart!
Lesson 5 - PE
Last week, you chose 6 personal challenges from the grid below. Today, you can either repeat the same 6 challenges and see if you can beat your scores from last time, or you can choose 6 different challenges to have a go at. Or...if you are feeling inspired by the football recently and have a football to hand with some space outside, you could go outside for a kick around with someone from home or maybe practise some penalities!! The choice is yours!
Again, if you complete any work you want to show me before this Friday - then please email it across:
