oo and oo

We talk to the children about oo (short) oo (long) looking the same but making different sounds. We make them aware that when reading and writing we do not draw the eyes in the sound as it is just to help us when learning the sound initially.

The children are encouraged to attempt both sounds and decide which one is correct and use contextual knowledge (when reading) to select the right one.  Below are some activities to work on looking at both sounds together.
