Lesson 1 - Maths
In today's lesson, we recap from Year 2 how to present data using pictograms. A pictogram is a bit like a bar chart but instead of bard, these charts use pictures or symbols to show the data. It is important you understand the key to one of these charts and what each whole symbol represents. You should find this a straight-forward lesson. Both groups need to watch the video below before completing the activity sheet.
Lesson 2 - Reading
Read 'The Journey' and answer the questions.
Lesson 3 - English - Comprehension
In today's comprehension session, you are going to read about the legend of Perseus and Medusa. Perseus was the son of Zeus and Danae. In this story, Perseus's mum has been captured and held by an evil king and in order to save her, he must go on a mission to remove Medusa's head! Medusa was the most terrifying monster figure in Ancient Greek mythology - known as a gorgon who could turn anyone who looked in to her eyes to stone!! There is an animated video below which summarises the story and links to the text you are going to read. Grab yourself a drink and watch the video before you read your text. Versions of the text and questions for both groups are below.
Lesson 4 - RE
In today's RE lesson, you will learn more about the fifth pillar of Islam - Hajj. This is a special journey that all Muslims must try and make at some point in their lives to the holy city of Mecca in Saudi Arabia where a large black stone known as the Ka'bah is located inside a large mosque. This black stone building represents the house of God (Allah) and is a very spiritual place for all Muslims. For this lesson, you first need to watch the video using the link below and then work your way through the PowerPoint which talks you through the stages of the journey and the importance of this trip to Muslims. You have a choice of tasks for this lesson which are included in the PowerPoint.
