Our School Mission Statement
Our Mission
Here at St Monica's,
We recognise that we are all cherished members of God's family.
We love and care for one another and trust God to guide us in all that we do and say.
Together, we love, learn and grow, becoming the people God calls us to be
St Monica, help us, this we pray.
Amen
Our Aims and Values
At St Monica's Roman Catholic Primary School, we pride ourselves on being a happy, caring and welcoming community where every child is valued, respected and included. We are committed to ensuring that all children feel a strong sense of belonging and are supported to flourish. Through a rich and varied curriculum, a nurturing learning environment and a wide range of opportunities, we encourage every child to reach their full potential and make the most of the unique gifts and talents given to them by God.
Inspired by the life and example of St Monica, our school is built on the values of faith, gentleness, perseverance and patience. They are linked with our behaviour values of being:
- ready
- respectful
- kind
- safe
These values shape our Catholic ethos and guide us in all that we do, fostering a culture of kindness, respect, compassion and service to others. We believe that every child has a voice and a valuable contribution to make to our school community.
Children are empowered to take on a wide range of leadership responsibilities, enabling them to develop confidence, independence and a strong sense of responsibility. Through roles such as School Librarians, Our Online Safety Ambassadors, the Laudato Si' Eco Club, Growing in Faith Together (GIFT) Team, Caritas Ambassadors or Sport/ Play leaders, children help shape school life, support their peers and put their faith into action. We are proud to nurture a community where every child is encouraged to lead, participate and make a difference, knowing that they are loved by God and that their contribution matters.
Working in partnership with our families, parish and wider community, we nurture every child to grow in faith, develop strong values and achieve their full potential, living, learning and flourishing in the light of Christ.
