GIFT Team

GIFT stands for Growing In Faith Together.

The GIFT team is a group of children from Year 5 and 6 at St Monica's Primary School. This scheme has been introduced by Bishop John Arnold throughout the diocese. At St Monica's it was introduced in 2016 and has been growing and developing since then.

The role of our team is to promote the Catholic faith through prayer, worship and actions in school and the parish. We do this by supporting the teachers, pupils, governors and our parish priest. To do this the GIFT team go into different classes each week to teach prayers or talk about events in the Liturgical year, we have learnt about different Saints and share this with the classes. We have helped with Religious displays in school. We have also organised charity collections for Marie Currie, Operation Shoebox, Cornerstones and Saint Joseph's Penny. Some of us were fortunate enough to visit Cornerstones and really see the impact of our donations. We help at school and parish masses.
