Cultural Capital
Cultural Capital is a recent initiative from the Government in which schools are being asked to consider how the curriculum they have designed gives all learners “the knowledge and cultural capital they need to succeed in life” (Ofsted, 2019).
Therefore, at St Monica's, we aim to provide children with a wealth of experiences, as we recognise that these opportunities provide pupils with the essential knowledge to be able to engage with their lives beyond St Monica's and become active citizens in the way in which they are most fully able to.
By enabling all of our pupils to have a broad range of experiences, we seek to develop their knowledge and wonder of the world. We aim to do this through Spiritual, Moral, Social and Cultural development opportunities.
